I have a 1997 Honda Civic Ex which has the D16Y8. Basically, what I am looking to do is get a replacement engine just to get me back on the road while I build up that D16 I had due to the fact that it blew.(2nd engine within past 3 years might I add). Anyhow, I was searching for an engine on the internet and ran into the JDM D15B. I talked to the shop that's selling it and he told me that it WILL be a direct bolt on without doing any mods or buying other accessories to make work..... What I would like to know is "is it actually a direct fit","is it worth buying" or should I just stick to getting another D16 for the meantime?Your suggestions are most helpful, this sh** has been haunting me for the past few months and it's time to get my car outta the shop....

welcome man!!!...i tell this to every one of the "noobs" which i technically still am...GREAT SITE!!!!..so much to learn...i think u r gonna want to keep that Y8....its a real good engine to build off of...about the D15B...put it this way..the reason y there is a "D-series site" is b'cuz of the fact that all the D-series are built relativley the same...thats y u c these civics and rex's packed w/ parts from otehr models..like a D16Y7 w/ a Y8 IM and a Y8 head...an Si tranny....so yeah...D15 should work with ur car
