What's everyone's opinions on clutches.....What is the best all around clutch for the street/strip racer. Company/stage. Clutchmasters, Centerforce, ACT, EXEDY???? Which one is the best bang for buck? I'm askin cuz I need a new clutch and haven't a clue who to go with, and I don't wanna pay a lot for my muffler.....errrr........clutch. He's makin grills now anyways.
I found a good deal on a Centerforce dual-friction clutch on ebay. Is this a good clutch or should i stay away from it???

i have a act.. i LOVE it !! im drivning with the heavyduty plate and s/s clutch... i like the more hard feeling of the clutch and it graps really good !
but maybe i should have gotten the extreme plate !? i like the feel of that ! but the is HARD !!! :) only thing is ! USE a OEM throw bering ! the one that comes with it sucks !! i think !

Action clutches are way up there when it comes to quality. OS Giken Clutches are cream of the crop. No one has been able to touch them when it comes to clutches. However they do not offer a clutch kit for a Honda SOHC, but TURBOPANDA on Honda-tech has modified a RX-7 clutch and flywheel to work with a D series motor. Os Giken clutches go for about 1500. He has his for sale for 900.

I've got a Centerforce duel friction and I really like it. My friend is also happy with his. He has a mini-me swap with a Jackson charger. That last part is pointless I just figured I'd mention it because it's a cool setup.

Can you give me some feedback on the feel of the clutch and the grip. Is it too much for a daily driver? How long have you had it? What's your driving style? Do you go to the track often? I'm just tryin to get all the info I get b4 I go in $300+ on a clutch.
Thanx

I like the Centerforce, it's a little agressive for stop and go or slow driving but defenetly streetable. I drive my car hard shift late and down shift often. It's also seen quite a few hard lanches on the street and at the track and so far it has held up without any fade in the 6 months I've had it.

I have a 1990 Acura Integra GS 1.8L DOHC. I am new to the racing world and was wondering what kind of clutch would be suitable for this year and model car. The clutch I have now is almost completley gone (female owner, it was 75% gone when I bought it!). If anyone one can help PLEASE do

I've been running a centerforce dual friction for about 3 years/30Kmiles. No complaints here.

I am deciding on this combo:
ACT Clutch Kit - HC5-HDSS - http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/prod/HC5-HDSS
ACT ProLite 8.4lbs Flywheel 600115 - http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/prod/600115

are there other people having problems with the throw-out bearing from ACT???

I'm very happy with my exedy organic racing clutch. However I have no plans to drag race. Strictly daily driving and road racing/hpde whenever the budget permits.

I'm in need of a clutch for my 91 Civic 4 spd as its beginning to slip. I've heard I can use a 90-91 Si clutch since its still a cable tranny on my STD 4 spd. Is this true, or do I need the rest of the Si tranny?

The clutch I'm after the most is Action Clutches Stage 1 sprung metallic disc, says its good up to 275 hp and still isn't too brutal to use daily. (I shift hard above 5.5-6K rpm every day and want a clutch that will hold up to many drag launches) I don't mind a little left foot workout, any other clutches this strong / high quality for ~$300?

SINGLE DIAPHRAGM
HEAVY DUTY PRESSURE
PLATE, 6 PUCK DISK
WITH MIBA FRICTION
PADS, SPRUNG, 275 HP. Linkage; Honda-Tech members get em @ this price (http://www.garage-life.com/Action_Clutch.html)

They also offer an organic disc oem replacement for $250, but I'd probably go with EXEDY since they've been making organic clutches a lot longer than Action for sohcs.
