nope.

2001 + use cable linkage to shift.

PS might wanna add this as a sticky in the 7th gen forum.

If the problems is the cable linkage, I can say yes it fit. Just use the 01-5 civic shifter (with its plastic mounts) and clables and use your imagination to fit it on the car.

On Honda Tuning magazine they swap a K20 or K24 on an older civic. They cut the floor where the shifter is, use aluminum sheet to build a custom mount. Ask a friend who receive that magazine...

You sure that hx 3rd isnt 1.166? That's what the 01-05 manual says.

yes the trannys out of 01-05 civics are the same as the older ones minus the linkage. you can bolt an 01 tranny to a Y8 or Z6 so ive read , ive never tried yet.

How hard would it be to make it a 6 speed (matter of adding an extra gear, or is it a matter of getting a new mount able to handle the 7 gear settings [with reverse].)

I saw on another thread that it would be advantagous to swap first gear for a 2.75 gear, does that still apply to our DX/EX models?

You saying that the 05 manual has a typo or the earlier ones?

One of them has a typo which is quite common.

I didn't check any of the others. That was the last book they gave us.

i know i'm bringing back a old thread but i got a question.

i got a EX so if i put in a LX tranny will those ratios mean that 1st is more power (shorter gear) and 5th is fewer RPM at X speed or more MPG? also how does the final drive fit in? do i add it to X gear to get the final drive?
