what year integra did the DOHC Black valve cover ZC come out of in the us? 88-89? Or are these motors truly "JDM" (only available in japan)?

the blacktops were in the 88-89 teg, but they were not ZCs. They are D16A1's

There is only 1 zc motor. IT NEVER CAME IN ANY CAR IN THE USA. The block is stamped with the letters "ZC" nothing else. There is a pre obd zc and there is an obd-1 zc

There are two ZC's in the Intega line. Both 1G versions. 86-87 brown top ZC and 88-89 black top ZC. Both have 4 valve cover bolts.
The third ZC is the 88-91 2G black top with 8 valve cover bolts. I believe it was found mostly in the CRX/Civics.
Just to add another point of confusion, there is a black top ZC from the 88/89 JDM Integra/Quint that will bolt into the 1G/3G CRX/Civic, same as the brown top. Same cam gear size as well.
Then of course you have the SOHC ZC for the D series.
Hope I got that all correct. JS
