I have, the car is a 91 dx w/ a d15b2.What head gasket to us(y8 i,think),what timming belt.I hear on some head/block combos the timming will be 1/2 tooth off,is this true in my case if so what will I have to do to correct it.Anyone willing to help me out?I thank you in advance for any insight.

the timing belt has nothing to do with the cam timing. here is a suggestion. did you buy the whole z6 motor or just complete head? if you just got the head i would suggest useing a z6 head and then use the y8 cam. the y8 cam in a z6 head is 4.75 deg off so there for you timing will be right and you will have a performance increase thanks to the y8 cam. i will be installing a y8 cam into my z6 head that is on my 1.5 block this weekend. if i have the time i might even add a 50-60 shot to it as well.

oh yeah and always use the timing belt that matches the head you are useing.

thats what i thought .. always use the timing belt of the head your swapping .. it seems like the most logical answer

replacing the z6 head from a d16z6 (which is vtec already) with a y8 head( another vtec head) ? i've never heard of that before... always heard that the z6 was the better head out of the two

The y8 head I have has less miles and my stock distrib will bolt right up with no Ghetto rigin.

maybe before you put it on .. get it ported, honed, and hot tanked ... that way at least it will flow better than a stock z6 ... make the swap actually worth something ..

d15b2 distributor will not work with MPFI you must get d16a6 distributor
