I got a few quetsions regarding compression ratios, and hp increases.
The d16a6 engine is somewhere around 9.1:1 compression, for a baseline lets use a d16a6 w/delta272 cam (is what ill be using) how much whp can you gain per compression point (9:1 vs 10:1 vs 11:1 and so on) i plan on putting d16a1 pistons and a d16y8 HG which should put me around the 12:1 area, how much of a gain is possible going from 9:1 to 12:1 as an estimate???

Im not really shure.Im doing the same build right now without that cam though. It depends on the tuning.I think maybe 20 hp.

here what sdsefi.com has to say
"Increasing the compression ratio is another way to increase power. It also increases fuel mileage. Unfortunately, the pump fuel available in most areas limits the compression ratio useable on the street to under 10.5 to 1 on most engines. The difference in power is minimal going from say 9 to 10.5 to 1 and it is a lot of work to shave the head or install new pistons. Again, if you get stupid and try to run an 12 to 1 CR on 92 octane fuel, you will suffer with lots of pinging and eventual failure. Many high compression street engines must have their timing severely retarded to avoid detonation which reduces the power right back to stock levels. Don't raise the compression ratio too high!"

doubt that the fuel pump would be a big issue on a n/a honda build.
also, a number of people out there running around 12:1 or higher on pump gas with proper tuning. personally, I wouldn't try for more than 11:1 on a street car.
how much power you gain from higher cr depends on what other mods you already have

its simple .. you want boost ? lower the compression ... you want an N/A monster ...high compression is for you ... if built properly and with proper tuning by a professional .. that shit will run like a dream ..

i'm running over little over 12:1 everyday. the ignition timing is advanced on 93 octane. seems fine to me.
