Its locked so ill post this here....

There are single coil subs, dual coil and quad coil.

Also, as mentioned in the other thread, there is a tech article that Adire did that completely shuts down the idea that a larger driver will be less accurate or have less SQ then a smaller driver when comparing solely on diameter. I think there are some things that need to be looked over and verified before making the sticky.

Something I would recommend posting is this (http://jlaudio.com/tutorials/wiring/index.html)

I may be young but I know a little about electronics/audio and I would be interested in helping with the sticky if you would like. :bubbrubb:

Most people aren't going to be able to warrant buying a Hifonincs or Atomic sub (the only companies i can remember off-hand) since getting one will probably blow their proposed budget. I'm trying to keep this simple for people first starting off, so throwing in QVC subs into the mix would probably just confuse them even more than they already are.

I posted that bit about larger subs being less accurate from experience. I'm a jazz fan, and one of the most prominent features in jazz is the bassline. Most times it's a running bassline. In my setup with a single 10", I can clearly discern all notes being dropped by the bass player. In setups with anything 15" and larger playing that same track there is a noticeable difference. First thing i noticed was that the bass lagged about a quarter of a beat behind. The second thing i noticed was that all the notes seemed to be muddled together. None of these setups looked to be ghetto rigged either with particle board or duct tape. They were all cleanly and correctly installed with good quality components (not audiobahn, pyle of shyt, Sony, etc.). Link me up to that adire article, I don't think i've seen that one in their archives before. :)

I was gonna do the rest of the write up today, and that JL diagram is going in it as well as the lightning audio one. If you wanna collaborate, hit me up on AIM or via PM and we can talk about stuffs.
