I am losing anti-freeze, and have no idea where it is going! No leaks, no smoke coming out the exhaust, and nothing in the oil. Could the turbo be burning it, how do I check that? Could the head gasket be leaking even though there is no smoke...
I am thinking of getting a compression test done before I leave here!
Please help again!

I always end up with low antifreeze just to find it in the overflow reservoir later...its weird.

It isn't the reservoir, if I fill that up it usually sucks that dry as well.
Any other suguestions?
forget doin a compression test, do a Leak down, and leave the rad cap off while your doin it, if the head gasket is blown it will cause the rad to either overflow or you will see bubbles coming up thru the coolant.... Does it overheat at all?

I heard another way to check to see if headgasket is blown is to put a mirrow over the exhaust and if steems then your headgasket is most likely blown.

What is a leak down? How do you do this?
Only overheats when the coolent is low, otherwise no!
I will do the mirror test tomorrow morning, Thanks!

Does anyone know what a leak down test is and how to do it?
Please!

ok first you need the guage for the leakdown test then you get what ever cylinder you wanna check......you want it at TDC on the Compression Stroke......Then you have to compress air in it......there is a fitting on the guage and it will tell you how much its leaking.......and then if its leaking you see if its cominout exhaust, intake etc.

Ok cool thanks, I will check this out tomorrow.
The other thing I am going to do tomorrow is torque down my head bolts. Maybe that is why it is leaking.
If you have to torque down the head bolts now its too late, the gasket will already have blown, retorguing or doing it when the engine is hot is somthing our fathers generation did, and it will only cause more issues... Do the leak down and go from there...
