How Is Your State's Judicial System?

I believe North Carolina's Judicial System is decent, in my county at least, but today I had to go to court for a ticket I got over Christmas break...in Tennessee. The court house would have been better managed by monkeys than these people, no one had any idea what was going on. When I first arrived at 8:30 A.M. we went in and asked the lady how to get to the court room, after she thought for a minute she told us to go upstairs and then to the left (she pointed right), so I went up there and saw the court room...on the right, then we waited for like 30 more minutes for the doors to open. When we finally got in people started to pour in. You could have mistaken the court room with a landfill with all the white trash in there. At 10:00 the judge finally came in with his other cronies and sat down. He actually seemed like an okay guy. So when the court finally began all these people going up to the judge had pretty different reasons for being there than I did like: driving with a revoked liscense, driving without insurance and things like that. When I finally got to the guy before the judge and tell him my name he starts looking through these huge stacks of citations looking for my name...he doesnt find it and says "How old were you when you got this ticket?" I say 17, so he tells me I'm in the wrong place and I need to be down the hall to the Juvenile Court and to go there I go down the hall and to the 3rd floor. When we arrived at the 3rd floor the courtroom doors had a sign that said it was being held across the street. So we got over there and couldnt find the court room...We asked the people there what was going on and they said the only court that was being held there that day was Child Support court. We eventually found out that the people from the Juvinile Court were in a meeting in Gatlinburg. :wtf: So I have no idea what is going to happen with this ticket.

when you are a minor you have to go to court regardless of whether you want to contest it or not.. at least in ohio

I had to go all the way downtown and miss school just to pay a fine and sign a god damn piece of paper when I was in high school. nothing I couldnt have mailed in, but they required that I waste a couple hours of my day with their revenue generating bullshit

roflmao cause every time i go to court thats exactly why they're there. i'm a beaner too but i'm not as wet as those guys. it's always no liscense no insurance and failures to appear for them. but they always get off easy??
but the judge always knocks off hundreds of dollars from the ticket. my last one in bigg. of feb was 605$ for running a red light and failure to appear but he brought it down to 140. :hyper: worked for me.

god... and i'm getting raped... the cops recorded me driving through an intersection in a cross streat... it waseither cross the street or block oncoming traffic... and as i drove through the cop stepped off the curb... get to the court house to try and get it reduced... from $115, the judge looks at her paperwork and say's minimum for the perticular infraction $160 gavel drops... i have to pay it!

other place pay the $150 all but $25 they put out a bench warrent and suspended my liscence over the $25 yeah some of the local cops in Oregon are gay... or the you can/can't have a liscence plate cover... i'll ask cops when i ask its ok if its able to be read... but whne i get pulled over its illegal... come on pig get together make your storys stright... OR's law... visable form 150ft. its legal... to me its visibal more than my front plate the hangs on straps in the open grillwork... on some metal strapping to make it so red light cams can't see the front plate.. and the window banner that goes down the the asi line.. so you cant see my face from above!

Same here. Had to wait an hour and a half just to get a stupid parking violation paid off. That was in cobb county though, if it had been in fulton county, I could have gone to the courthouse and paid it off right there. But nooooooooo... :roll: I feel your pain dude. :werd:

South Africa.................we have a 24 hour fine paying centre...........queue for 3 hours during office hours, or go there at like 7pm and leave at 7:05pm.........

I hardly contest any fines.........afterall, I'm guilty like 101% of the time........

I did one though.........$400 for street racing.....paid a friend (speedcop) who did the waiting work for me........got it down to about $50.

our system in efficiant but it just needs to be rethought up, i mean i got pulled over and as i was being pulled over an Evo and a STI that roll together all the time come BLOWING by us doing atleast 70 in a 50 and i get a ticket for not using my blinker? i mean come on let me go and chase the dudes that are gonna kill someone. Another time was me and a friend got into a lil brawl outside of the place we buy beer from(and im a minor) and we didnt start it they threw a milkshake at my car so i confronted them and after i talked to them not nicely one of the guys (there were 3) threw a punch and i dodged it i beet the fuck outa him with a flash light them BIG OL' COP maglights. granted i did break the law cuz its 2 punches for it to be self defense but they had prob 6 oz of pot and 4 cases of beer and they were only 17. but who gets in trouble? ME! it is good in a way just our police need to be refocused
