I used to run in CSP on a hokey Koni yellow front/Tokico blue set-up on my '89 CRX with H&R race springs and ST bars (rear set on full stiff). The tires were BFG R1s (pre-G-force), can't remember the size but I think it was 215/50-13 on 13" x 7" Panaracer copies. I will probably go to Kumho tires next; can't afford to play on Hoosiers.
I'm about to move into SM2 with a hybrid motor and was considering changing the shocks.
I was looking for feedback on the KYB AGX's vs. Koni's single-adjustables vs. Tokico Illuminas.
Do those of you who have run both Konis and double-adjustable shocks like the AGX's feel the increase of compression damping along with rebound damping is an advantage or a disadvantage?
Common theory would suggest that the rebound-damping-only adjustment of the Konis would be better for the quick-transition, lower-speed scenarios involved with autocross, esp. on poor/rough surfaces, but I'd like to get feedback from those who have run both.
Thanks in advance.
