i have a d15b7 with a garrett t-3 on it and i was wondering if im running under 8lbs of boost is an intercooler nessary and if it is or isnt nessary will it make a preformance difference

It isn't necessary, however I would. The air that comes out of the turbo is close to 300 degrees an intercooler cools that off to about 80-90 degrees. You don't want all that super hot air going into the engine, it robs your car of major HP!

we have the same set-up (well i know no two engines have the same set-up, but you guys know what i mean), man. let us know how the intercooler turns out.

i just found an intercooler from a turbo coupe and i am going to put that on tonight and see what happens.
hopefully i can find a better one on ebay in the future
ill get back tomarow and tell ya if it helps

since ive had the intercooler on ive noticed a difference and the motor seems to run alot stronger now that i have an intercooler from a conquest

does anyone know how i can monitor my air charge tempature??

The simplest way is to go get a thermistor from Radio Shack (or your favorite electronic components outlet) and put the thermistor in the air charge steam...hook up the thermistor to a digital volt meter and read the resistance. A conversion chart supplied with the thermister will give you a resistance to temperature conversion.
