I paid another member here for some parts last Saturday--9 days ago. I won't mention his name yet, because I don't want to incriminate anyone without at least finding out what the problem is. But if you waited this long and had not received a tracking # yet or your $ back, would you be upset?
What would you do?

9 day ...upset ...yes ...no tracking number hmmmmm ....id be pissed ...good luck
I am usually willing to give a 2 week grace period. Has there been any contact at all? If no contact, then 9 days is unacceptable. If there has been contact made, I wouldnt make a huge deal until the 14th day. I am pretty easy going with things though. When I sell something, I dont like to wait around, I want that shit gone because I know how it feels to wait for parts. When I am waiting for someone to send me a payment through the mail, I have whatever it is boxed up ready to go so I can drop it off asap. If they pay me through paypal, I send it out the next day, 2 days at the latest if I am swamped with work. I always either email them a tracking number or if I have their phone number I will call them and let them know it shipped and also let them know I will email them a tracking number later that night. That is just me though.

That's basically how I am. . .There has been contact, but not for about 4 or 5 days. I know he was not in his hometown over the weekend because he had actually asked me if we could meet, but I don't have the time for 4 or 5 hours of driving, at least I didn't this weekend. I'm hoping he was just out partying over the weekend and he'll get right to it soon.

did they tell you that they shipped it or that they've recieved payment?
if they did then I would wait. I bought a gauge from someone from here. and shipping took 2 1/2 weeks. I wasn't happy with how long it took to ship, but I got it. sometimes things just don't ship very fast. and you have to take into consideration how far it has to travel.

"what if" he sent you a email and you didn't get it because it was "spam" and you deleted it???????? I did just that with last Ebay auction. Finally contacted the seller thru Honda-Tech IM. Box was shipped last Thursday, arrived today!!!!!!!

If you already paid him, then yes, in my opinion, 9 days is very unacceptable. Even if it's taking longer to ship, he should at least stay in contact with you or give you a shipping # so you can track the parts yourself.
If it's past a week for me, without any contact or attempt made to ship parts, I would just want my money back.

He contacted me yesterday afternoon (PM'd me) and apologized, said he would get it shipped out and would have it to me in the next 2 days. So before I post his name, I'm going to give him this chance. If he doesn't get back to me in the next two days saying I should get it in a day. I'll post it, don't worry.

sounds fair...........I just think it sucks sometimes the way that some people work, maybe this guy had every intention in sending it, but there's no excuse for being a slacker when someone's already paid you.

I have other reasons for my paranoia, like identity theft. That was a nerve-racking couple months. But you're right, if you get paid, take care of business.

I guess its a fair request. . .Especially since someone else may hit one of his classified threads.

I didn't post this to badmouth him. I think I've been more than fair, haven't emailed any hatemail/cuss him out type stuff. If he doesn't contact me with the proper tracking information soon, I'll just tell him I want my $$ back.

I start complaining 23.4 seconds after clicking the submit button on paypal. After 5 minutes I've sent about 26 emails and threatened legal action numberous times. After 10 minutes I hit every board I'm a member of and subscribe to boards I think his family members might be members of to start at least 3 threads per forum letting everyone know how the seller is a worthless scammer. I then book plane tickets to the sellers city and pack my foil hat and saran wrap for the trip ahead......

WHOA!! Remind me not piss you off ;-) I understand what you're saying, I try to give everyone a fair chance. And if I'm the one shipping, I'll not sleep till the damn thing is out of my hands!! I reeeeeeeally want the parts, so I can do the mpfi swap. THat's my main concern really.

yeah, selling old parts is easy...
try doing chipping... fuck, you can't do shit until the ecu gets to you... usually by then you have so much crap to do :( Then you have to test it to make sure you didn't screw anything up...
so far, everyone's been patient with me... I try not to take longer than a week.

I did try and search for anything negative. . .didn't find anything except that one person wanted to return a part for their $$ back. I've not been a member here very long, so its possible these issues were before my time. I hope I didn't get jacked.

Considering you're one guy, and from what I've read, you do a really good job with the ecu's--a couple weeks (week to get there and a week back)--doesn't sound too bad. I've been meaning to PM you, I'll wait awhile until I know what's up for sure with this situation.

jarvis will get you the parts dont worry about that
sometimes he gets very busy, i know because ive dealt with him and waited
but dont worry youll get them, i did, and even though he sent me the
wrong tranny and could have easily just left it at that, he is currently
working out a deal with me to send me more parts to make up for the
mistake
i know how you feel, and some people cant stand to wait, i know cause im one of them, but at least you might be able to rest at night knowing you will get your parts in the mail

I certainly hope it all works out. I'd much rather get those parts, he had what I needed, I'm looking forward to the mpfi swap. I will probably skip the mpfi swap if it doesn't work out. . .I know how it is to get busy. . .but damn. We all know how hard it is to actually get all the proper parts. When you find what you need, its like striking gold. . .
Then some guys (from other posts earlier in this thread), would be way past freaked out right now!!

It has officially been 14 days since I paid Jarvis606. I wouldn't really worry too much if he'd only contact me. I'm attempting to find a ph# so I can just call him up and ask what the heck is going on.

Hell, I don't know what's goin' on. He called me Sunday and said he'd have a tracking # for me on Monday. Of course, nothing yet, and its officially Tuesday. I'm calling him later today. I'm getting really discouraged with buying on the forums anymore. Although this is the first time I've had to deal with such a lack of initiative to get stuff done. I don't like to owe anyone. I'm so impatient, it's probably some bad karma.

That is kinda funny, not really, more ironic maybe, that at least with complete scam, I'd know how to deal with it. But Eric IS NOT trying to rip me off, he just took too damn long to get around to shipping. He said its shipped, and he's going to call them for the tracking# and email me again. So I think things are working out. Its all about getting the damn mpfi swap done during the engine rebuild. Instead of going back a couple weeks later and swapping all the parts out again. I think we're going to be fine now. I'll be sure to post more.

UPDATE
So I finally got a tracking # today. . .Not working in the ups system yet. . .We'll see tomorrow. If it doesn't work tomorrow, I'm driving to Kentucky and finding him and my parts. I'm also hoping that since they're only in KY, they'll get here by Saturday which is when I'll be back in the garage getting the newly machined engine back together.
Looks as if the tracking # is legitimate. Thanks jarvis606 for making good on our deal. I appreciate it. Now, just a couple more days, and we'll be back driving the Rex. . .Hopefully
