Okay, im not trying to start a hate thread here, but i heard on the news in the last week or so that the canadian government sent something like 400-450 MILLION FUCKING DOLLARS overseas to the countries affected by the tsunami.
WTF????
dont get me wrong here folks, im all for helping others out and you all know that it as true as can be. however, Im just really pissed off and so damn frustrated right now at the general state of affairs. we had a huge group of homeless people in this provinces capital city, so large it was named Tent City, our government is supposed to be in debt, our healthcare is dwindiling and we are sending MILLIONS OVERSEAS????
for fucks sake people. on the most basic street level...ange cant even get her daughter's deadbeat dad to fork over $300 a month for support and thats AFTER she's been to court and filed papers and the whole nine. they said unless he gest a job, they cant do anything unless he files income taxes in which case they'll take it right from that.

its a travesty what happened over there and i wouldn't wish that disaster on my worst enemy, but FOR GODS SAKE MR CANADIAN GOVERNMENT, HELP YOUR OWN FUCKING PEOPLE FIRST BEFORE YOU PUT US MORE INTO DEBT TO GIVE OTHER PEOPLE MONEY. SORT OUT YOUR OWN PROBLEMS AT HOMNE BEFORE YOU START TO BE GOOD SAMARITAN SOMEWHERE ELSE.
canada used to have one of the most envied health care systems in the world, and now we have to start paying for it. but we have 400+million to send overseas. we have one of the most helpful (and admittedly most easy to abuse and scam) welfare and social assistance programs in the world. but we sent 400+ million overseas. our large cities house the largest homeless populations in the country, but we sent 400+ million overseas.
if i garner hate mail for these comments, then so be it. im just tired of paying my hard earned tax dollars and working my ass off to see others get help when i or someone else who needs it dont get squat. im looking at severe financial loss at the moment but if i applied for welfare (social assistance to our US friends) they would laugh at me because im not completely down and out. im tired of the governemt fucking with our money and allocating it foolishly or without due process to helping out its own citizens who need it too.
im kinda pissed off and tired right now so if i dont make the most complete sense, my apologies.
i can tell you that if i was $50 away from going hungry and someone asked me to help them out with $50 so they can buy food....
