hey there, i am going to buy a z6 from a junkyard with about 74 on it, but i dont have the money for the trans just yet. think i should buy the motor and wait to put it in till i get the trans, or put the motor in with all the correct wiring and ecu and then get the trans when i can?

Buy the motor and put it in.
I did this. And it was definately worth my time.
It's an extra 25 hp.
The tranny difference is definately noticable.
So start saving.
In fact, I'd say the tranny made an equal to motor swap difference.
Yeah Eee Pee has the right idea. Swap that z6 in an start saving for the tranny.

what else would i need to do it besides the p28 ecu and a p28 distributor. i know a have to add 2 wires for vtec. i think its the oil press to A4 and a sensor to D6, and a ground. so would i add them from the vtec sel. right to the comp? or add them at the strut tower connectors to the ecu?

I ran mine right to the computer.
My harness didn't have the wires.
