If you feel it is appropriate, I would suggest that you forward this onto your friends, we need folks to know that it is not all bad news over there. It is only bad news where the insurgency wants to focus the media’s attention. They, both the insurgency and the media, certainly don’t want us to think that there is any good being done over there.

What joke.. the only joke is the fact that the media tries to focus on the negative aspects of the war.

I was referring to juices91 remark............

watching CNN over here all we hear is what a great job the troops are doing and how many people are happy that they're there etc etc......I'm not even going to start on my feelings towards the war in iraq............but still, it's good for you guys to see two sides of the story when it's your loved ones that are over there.

Hey its all good because the people who are not ignorant that believe everything on tv..
They have someone they know who is serving that has been or is there right now..
its one or two right wing liberal that make the small things that happen in war appear worse...yes loosing a friend, family member, loved one, comrade in arms is heart breaking to those it affects. But its the point of we are trying to make things better for the less fortunate that were oppressed by a psycho!!
its the people in those pictures above that really make all of our effort worth the while.

The media plays what sells... disaster, death, disease... these things sell that's why the headlines of the paper are always along those lines and the news shows shocking, disturbing, and negative images. That shit sells. It doesn't take a genious to figure it out. It's not a right wing thing, or a left wing thing... it's a ratings thing.

I got over 100 pictures that I should host and post up... from a guy I know who was there for a year and a half. (almost a year longer than was supposed to be)

Please do. I know the task would be time consuming, but I feel its important for people to see Iraq through the eyes of a Soldier, not a reporter.

It's not a right wing thing, or a left wing thing... it's a ratings thing...Let's not forget that the media chooses what they feel is a worthy story or not.

I know this example is fictional but it has roots in truth and daily life. A recent episode of CSI aired with the story being about a rich suburbia white couple's daughter went missing and a huge manhunt with the usual media circus train was launched to find her. Yet a Hispanic couple's daughter went missing as well and no one knew or cared about it. It's a fictional story but happens every day in real life.

I get so disgusted and wonder how some people in the media (on scene reporters, camera people, anchors) can sleep at night? I mean, they rush to a disaster or tragedy like piranha to a bleeding animal in a river, only to slather viewers (or worse yet actual victims at the scene) with their scripted pseudo-caring verbal diarrhea and stupid ass fucking questions pretending to be wholeheartedly concerned with what's going on or how people feel.

It is definitely a sad state of affairs that's all I have to say.
