debate about halo 2

so me and my friend are debating about this game. i think that halo 2 took way to damn long to come out for the little amount of changes that was made to this game. my friend thinks that they realeased halo 2 pretty quickly and he also thinks that the changes that were added to the game were very big.. i just wanted ur guy's opinions on halo 2's changes and whether u think the game took way to long to come out or it came out alot faster then accpected.

There was a few opinions as to why it came out late the truth is that someone stole the origional game (halo 2) so they had to go back to the drawing boards and make it all over again. Thats why the release date was moved back further and further all the way to nov. 9. I have a friend that works at a game store and goes to the conferences all the time.

On a side note Need for speed looks very promising with the drive anywhere and the newly added downhill races. They took some of the hondas out though the only have the RSX and the Civic.

I love halo I've only played it once and it was like 2 yrs ago. it was at this guys house he had 2 big screens setup one on the main level the other in the basment they each had 4 controllers and werer hooked together with an ethernet cable. It was bad ass we played capture the flag for like 6hrs with 8 people was fucking awesome. I've got the 2 big screens now I just need to buy 2 xboxs and 2 halos and 8 controllers and ssome cable and get some games going, so lets see

my roommate is all about the halo 2. it looks like a step up from the first halo in terms of graphics, and gameplay, but i personally think there was too much hype about this one for what it is. I don't know if that was just marketing, or what though.

I played the game and I like it better then the first one. I think it is a good game but I am still better at racing games then anything.

well its obviosly better then the first one.. it damn better be for how long it took to come out.. but the changes for the amount of time they had arent that tremendous...i think they could have pulled it out in a year n a half... lazy ass's

well - I broke down and rented it tonight ... and I must say , overall ( from what Ive played ) its graphically better ..... the controls need a little practice getting used to ... but other than that , its not that bad

definately not worth the hype .... for as much as they hyped it up, this game should have been able to give you a blowjob while playing :roll:

^^^for real, don't get me wrong, i like it....but the best thing that they did was the new weapons and ability hold hold 2 guns. other than that they should have came out with the game on the ORIGINAL release date.

Pros: Wider weapon selection (both human and covenant), dual wielding for small arms, did away with the life bar (and beefed up the shield), more vehicles available, vastly improved graphics, new multiplayer levels. Xbox LIVE support (what more do i need to say there?), player customization (color scheme, decals, etc.), enemy AI is more advanced, multiple melee attacks for some weapons.

Cons: weapons are now ranged (so now I can't tag you from the other side of Blood Gulch (now Coagulation) with a pistol any more), for some reason a Ghost can take out a Banshee with no problem at all, multiplayer play will take a little getting used to if you've played Halo a lot before.

All in all, I'm very happy with the new release. And before you go bashing them for taking forever to make "small" changes to the game, keep in mind that they completely redesigned ALL the sprites and character sets to reflect the new graphic upgrades, revamped the physics engine to more accurately reflect gravity (and low gravity for that matter) and bullet paths. Not to mention all the campaign and multiplayer maps that got created. The shere scope of the levels is massive, and plus they had to leave something there for the third game. :p

I got it as a birthday gift. I like it, especially for it's multiplayer play. I can't use XBOX live though, since my po-dunk town doesn't have any high speed internet available. For the most part I like it; except the grenade throwing sucks anus. You can't throw them accurately at all, or any long distance. And with two weapons in your hands, I find it a little hard to see. This is on my 43" screen too.

Yeah quite short for such a big game. My g/f's little brother beat it in 6 hours on the first try. So im guessing its prety much made for an online game, not much of a challenge

i find it a load of crap with people saying 'i beat it first time through in 6 hours' or 'i beat it in 8 hours on legendary'
hell, there's ~2 hours of cut scenes in the game. i've played halo 2 quite a bit. and i'm fairly good. i find it nearly impossible to beat the game on legendary in 8 hours. i've even read developer interviews where they said they couldn't beat certain levels on legendary. and they made the game.

well... yesterday was the 1st time I got to play it with 6 other people and I must say MULTIPLAYER is very very good :TU:

awesome maps, great games, good layout, awesome options :TU:
we played for about 4 hours straight and it was VERY entertaining

I will be buying this game within the next 2 days

I'm throwing the BS flag on that one. Granted you can skip the cutscenes, but there are numerous areas that you can't just run through.

Although I can beat Assault on the Control Room (Halo) in under 12 minutes. 8)

i think its kind of hard playing the game on normal, took me 14 hours to beat it all together on normal, and i watched every cut scene.

i must add the ending is kind of a :wtf: but the story is AWESOME!
