Let me preface this by saying I DON'T think the war in Iraq is the cause:
I was very saddened to see that in Holland, a prominent artist (Van Gogh - distant relative of the painter) was murdered by Muslim extremists. The murderer even pinned a note to the body saying that the Jewish mayor of Amsterdam was next.
Now there have been retaliations... a Muslim school was set on fire with graffiti showing it was revenge for the artist's death.
This is just sad because the rising tensions in the Middle East is most definitely responsible for the start of this chaos. I really don't think that anyone is doing anything real to stop this. Sure, the U.S. is trying to stop the terrorists but they're ignoring general Muslim opinion. The rest of the world is just sitting idly by. I think there's going to be a lot more of this in the future and I am not looking forward to it.

I actually heard that France was re-thinking their side in the war on terror... Not to get off subject. I can not confirm this though!

First I heard of this... it wouldn't surprise me though. They made their point... that they're not the U.S.'s bitches... unlike Tony Blair or Koizumi (japan) :)
Sigh, all these arrogant countries just want power. France thinks they can take an equal stance against the U.S. now with the European union since they're currently a major player in it. The U.S. is trying to be big daddy and so we get mad that the french are resisting us. Japan thinks they can remain a big player by hanging on the coat tails of the U.S.... their economy kind of depends on it. I don't know wtf is going on with Britain... their Prime Minister and Parliament are severely divided.
The same shit is going on in Iran. First, the E.U. is negotiating to stop the Iranians' nuclear program. They're offering big economic incentives. This is kind of a slap in the face of the U.S.'s policy... since they went and did this without consulting the U.S. But, then, I don't think the U.S.'s bullying policy would have helped too much...
Ahhhh... the world is becoming a very unsafe place.

it's very scary to think what's happening in this world....the middle east is an EXTREMELY unstable place...and I'm not looking forward to what the future holds for itif you look at history in general, the middle east has never been stable, its the mixing pool for so many religons. and of course religon to many people is a touchy subject.
funnt how thats where most religons got started and it seems for the most part, the people in those places arent more tolerant:beer:

Another reason that the middle is so gaddam unstable is because the countries of the modern western world have spent much time and effort trying to make the middle east a 'private resource' for the west. Modern countries go in with military, financial, and commercial institutions to try and control the immensily important resource of energy. They establish puppet gov't's everywhere, fund rebellions, and support commercialized elitists.
So basically, I'm not sure what should be done to even begin restoring order over there. But, putting our hands in the mix will never help. It's just (as somebody said) "more of the same!"

I saw we give them a choice, either distroy there nuclear program, or we'll do it for them.

It has always been this way,the only differance is now you have the media spreading frar and paranoia all over the globe.

ok, let me qualify my statement... the world is becoming less safe.
I've travelled tons... and while it's true the media is spreading paranoia... I kind of don't want to go visit my aunt in Marseilles anymore. That city is pretty much half-Muslim.
The joke goes like this: What's the first Arab city in the Paris-Dakkar Rally? Marseilles.

I agree that some countries need help to fight their battles and it is only human nature to want to join the cause for human rights and freedoms.
However, one of these times the US political and moral agenda, althought good intentioned, is going to step on the wrong set of toes one too many times.
Remember Vietnam?
P.S. I am in no way hating on the US, intentionally or otherwise.

maybe its time people started to see the hate and destruction the Islamic world would bring to the west. I know it sounds so bad but its not all bad, see, although i would never vote for the man, GW is still in office and if its left to him, the next four years will spell misery for a lot of islamic extremists, so, GW, even though i would poke your eyes out if we met, I salute you.

How about this, the general Muslim populace has done absolutely nothing to stop, or even denounce terrorism5. It completely baffles me how Islam is the only religion allowed to murder innocent women and children, and the rest of the world sits by and watches... too scared to do anything because it might not be politically correct. If I was to blow up a bus full of people in the name of Judaism people would riot in the streets, and burn synagogues.
