i bought a y8 mani off of ebay that was supposed to be off of a 5spd, but i get it and it's off an auto. what all do i need to do to make this work on my car? Would I be better off getting another mani? what's the best throttle body for the y8 mani anyways?

What model is the engine you are going to be putting the manifold on? I assume since you bought it, that its a on-vtec model? If so then it is exactly what you need. Use your existing TB

The only real difference between the auto and manual intake manifolds (IM) are the manual ones have the IAC valve on the manifold and the autos don't. Also the auto probably have vacuum line on the back of them for cruise control which will need to be pluged if you don't have cruise. If you use a Y7 TB the IAC valve is on the TB, so that will fix that problem. I have heard of people drilling and tapping the manifolds for a IAC valve but that seem like a lot of work.
If you use the Y7 TB you have 2 choices from here,
-buy a Y8 TB and swap the throttel cable mounting plate (it round and attaches to the TB) also you will need a another bracket that attaches to the top of the IM (it keep the cable from moving when the throttel is applied)
-the second option is run the throttel cable under the IM and build a custom bracket to hold the cable in place. I did the second thing because it is a lot cheaper but it doesn't look as good.
I am sure you have seen this site buy if you haven't here you go. http://www.makuragi.s5.com/civic_99/Y8maniswap/

I'm putting this y8 mani on a d16z6. I was thinking of getting a b16 tb and machporting it to the mani because I will be getting a turbo soon and I heard that will help a little. Will the b16 tb be the best one to use with the y8 mani? I currently have a ZEX nitrous kit.

I was told on another site that a H22 manfild and TB would fit on a d-series with minor modifcations. I don't know if it is true or not but if it was true this may be good for your set up.
This is what I was told on another site.
Also, on the intake manifolds, heres a tip. Find a stock intake manifold off of an H22, and have it port matched to the head, as well as ported out a little bit. It flows just as good or better than the new Skunk2 Intake manifolds when you do that! If you are going all motor, slap on a 64-66mm Throttle Body, you should be set!!!
Has any one ever heard of this?

I highly doubt an H series manifold would work on a d-series motor. Guess the only true way to find out would be to try it for yourself.

h22 throttle body will fit on a y8 or z6 intake manifold

I want the biggest throttle body that will fit with NO problems. And so what size it the h22 again?
Maybe I should forget it and go buy a 62mm bbk
what do you all think?

I was reading a forum on hondaswap.com. I wasn't sure if the guy knew what he was talking about or not. I would be cool if it was true.
You can use the H22 TB, but the manifold will not work. You will need to port the TB hole on the plenum to match the H22 TB (60mm) and use a H22 TB gasket.

so the h22 tb on a y8 mani is the setup to go with?

62mm?? sounds like a good excuse to get a skunk2 manifold! I'm pretty sure the skunk is 62mm
so do all the sensors and everything line up?

Hmm, does anybody have any experience with a 65mm throttle body by like edelbrock, bbk, or whoever?
wonder if a 65mm would be worthwhile combined with a skunk2 mani?

thanks for the input guys. I think I'm just going to get rid of the auto mani and get a manual. I found one for $100. now does anyone have a 60mm TB?
