99 htch engines!!!!!!!

Hi everyone. I'm new here. I just brought a 99 civic dx htch. The problem I have is that...........when i was looking at the car in the lot i wasn't paying attention to engine specifications and what not. When i got home.....I was like what the "F@#K"!!!! NO "V-TEC" and NO rpm gauge. I had no idea that 99 htch's didn't come with v-tec and a rpm gauge. I initially thought that 99 htch's came with a rpm gauge and v-tec.Thats why I didn't bother asking the guy at the dealership. Now i'm frustrated and want to know wat kind of engine is in a 99 dx htch and wat are the specifications. I also want to know why it doesn't have v-tec and a rpm gauge when its the top of the line model in civic htchs. Thank you for your advice and appreciation. Bye.

just put a vtec head on it and change the gauge cluster problem solved

You got a D16Y7, 106 HP, no torque. Good news is you can get an LX/EX sluster for 50 bucks tops, and it will plug right in. The mini-me swap is a good thing to for a nice power boost.

Man all you have to do is swap the cluster and a mini me, don't worry that much!!! Anyways is always a good thing to ask questions at dealerships, especially with used cars. My suggestion is to go to carfax.com and check your car's history. Besides that you should be good to go.
