Nice car. If you'd like to be more JDM, you might want to get the flat amber cheek lights, as well as the JDM taillights. See my thread "Gone JDM" for pics of those.

Why would you want to make your car JDM? So that it looks like every other JDM car out there? Not trying to hate, just wondering why everyone seems to build toward JDM/Cleanliness...

Nothing wrong going through it. It's a trend, plus it's near stock as one can get in modifying. The other option is to make it look (and note the word "look") fast. So really, whatever would be more preferable to you. For me, being JDM is being different. Well, somewhat. Even if I am JDM, I won't go all-out JDM, but leave some room for my own style as well.

how big are those rotas and how low is ur car dropped?

12-04-2003, 08:34 AM
people go JDM because it looks fucking good .... sorry im not down with altezzas and 18's ... that shit is soo not cool on civics
FSR-Jones
12-04-2003, 10:56 AM
18's look cool if you have a wide body kit or fender flares, but I also don't like altezza's... hella fake plasticy looking.

I'll find and post up a picture of my friend Chris' car... it's a 98ish GS-R with a JDM Type R front with 18's... it looks pretty sick.

Those Rota's are 15's and the civic is dropped 2 1/2" via eibach springs
Thankyou "thesquad127" for understanding that there should be no relationshoip between civics and eighteen inches of wheel. "Less is more"
on the other hand little can be not enough 13's. I'm not completly jumping on the JDM bandwagon 100% but as "milliardo" put it so nicely
"JDM is being different I won't go all-out JDM, but leave some room for my own style as well." I completly agree! Around my city in Kansas everybody is all about big chrome wheels, big flashy body kits, huge wings and obnoxious lighting effects (under body neons, hood squirter lights, and interior neon lights) Im not trying to be like everybody else Overland Park, Kansas.

there should never be chrome underneath the wheel wells , only rims from japan !!! you can be 100 % JDM or only have a few JDM pieces, but either way it will always looks clean and better then some buddy club kit or some blue neon underbody .. what the hell is that ? since when do we install parts normally reserved for s10's on our civics?

seeing eye to eye with other car entusiasts is always good in more way than one !!! lets you know people share a somewhat resonalbe sense of fashion when it comes to cars ... i cant be around people with 18's on their stock integra with a wings west lip and a fuckin combat wing ... that annoys me ... i also cant be around someone with a s15 silvia front conversiaon and a lexus rx300 back light conversion with wide body and 19's dual exhaust huge aluminum wing neon tvs dvds systems air ride and when they pop their hood ... ??? a chrome APC air intake and some headers? thats considered " performance upgrades " ?? just an intake thats chrome and some headers ?? i bet half the people with show civics and what not dont even know what headers do ... that bugs the piss outta me .. how does it go ? all show and no go ? ?? yeah that gets a big thumbs down !!!

Around where I live every EG is trying to go JDM, but they are just going for the look because it's the quickest cheapest way to look JDM. I always get on their case because I hate how they just go for the look. The only things in their engine bay are the stock motor with AEM intake. POSERS!!!
I don't really think that Honda's and Acura's should have any rim bigger than 17's under their wheel well's, but I have seen some that look sick with 18's. I have a set of 17" Volk Racing TE-37's on my car and love them. I wouldn't ever get 18's.
I don't like neon squirters or under body lights. I like body kits though. Cars can still look clean and have body kits . For example check out the Bomex, Wings West, and Mugen body kits.

12-06-2003, 12:22 AM
well yeah , exceptions here and there on the body kits ( do luck, bomex, mugen, c west ) .. i also like the street racer look , low as hell ... fast motor, and steelies :) hahah nah rims can look good ... and forget about spoilers, no way .. no wing EVER !! not on a civic ... at least
