Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Now this is a game that looks completely bad ass, it takes 3 cities and makes them a state Los Angelos, Las Vegas, And San Fransico and puts them all in to one state. Where you have your Countryside between LA and SF, and then your mountain between SF and LV, takes place back in the early 90s, were gangs were high at stake. Your Postion ( Carlos Johnson ) i belive, is out to seek revenge/find himself in the city of LA. as you and your gang try to Reunite in the next citys to become the state bad ass Gang of the century. Length of this state is amazing, were in vice city u could travel from the bottom of the left side of VC to the top and over to the right side of VC and down in five minutes give or take. now San Andreas is different to drive across the state of SA it takes a whopping 16 to 17 minutes depending on how fast you go. By Street with a slow car it could take you close too 20, on Pedal bike almost 30, on street bike toping speef 15 and in air, 10 to 12. San Andreas has alot in store for you, it takes Vice City to a level of excitment thats in a different realm.

Five years ago Carl Johnson escaped from the pressures of life in Los Santos, San Andreas... a city tearing itself apart with gang trouble, drugs and corruption. Where filmstars and millionaires do their best to avoid the dealers and gangbangers.

Now, it's the early 90s. Carl's got to go home. His mother has been murdered, his family has fallen apart and his childhood friends are all heading towards disaster.

On his return to the neighborhood, a couple of corrupt cops frame him for homicide. CJ is forced on a journey that takes him across the entire state of San Andreas, to save his family and to take control of the streets.

ya, they say that the game has 3 cities, and just one city alone is going to be the size of the entire vice city game. think about that, 3 times the size of vice city!! its going to be on a dual layer cd, which will affect loading time, but holy shit, the way thais game is designed is amazing!

im still working my way through san fierro - word of advice to everyone playing , stay in LOS SANTOS for as long as you can !!!!!! take over as many gang areas as you can and try to find all the hidden stuff , once you leave Los Santos everything is different - so stay there as long as you can !!!!! I believe the last mission for Los Santos is " reuiniting the families " or its the one right after ... once you do those missions you get taken out of Los Santos

You dont need to find the 2 white sulks icons to unlock 2 player mission. When your is LS when you get your first girlfriend you can take her out on dates and stuff to eventually do... you know what... but at her door step this is a red icon the shows 2 people on it. It says the 2nd controller should press the left analog stick to be able to play as his g/f. What you can do is do drive bys, roam the city, "kiss", you both can ride on bikes, and on airplanes, and the only down side to it is that you can only go a certain distance away from each other, and when your his g/f you cant enter in any cheats. but this 2 player mode is AWESOME!

in GTA 3 they sterotyped Italians as all being dago, Mafia members and all Asians as being Triads ... its all in good fun, I play it for the features and enjoyment level ... not the realism :beer:

I just found this topic and since I'm currently bored, I decided to chime in. :P

the game is pretty good, but i think its kinda stereotypeing african americans...lol, pretty much all the black people in the game are gangstas or crackheads. but the game is pretty cool though.

That's actually how California was in the early '90's. Rockstar actually drove around L.A. video taping and interviewing real gangbangers. My girl manages a GameStop and she saw some wicked shit at their annual conference. Just clip after clip of gangstas throwin' up sets, flags, guns, straight reppin' their 'hoods. People driving around and hanging out of the windows with guns, doing pretty much the same thing. They did a lot of research on this game. I was a young teen in the early '90's and lived in an area that was full of gangs, I also hung out with a lot of gang members, this game is pretty damn close to how it was back then.

And just a quick note about the gang colors in this game and their real life counterparts:

Yellow = Latin Kings
Blue = Surreno
Purple = Grape Street Crips
Green = Crips

No slobs. No busters. :smile:

-daramy girlfriends brothers PS2 has this same issue, i dont know what the deal is with it. take the cover off and clean the laser with a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol. see if that helps.

I was playing GTA ... it started clicking , then the clicking got louder .. I turned it off several times , and clicking was still there. I put in a different game and it wouldnt read it , so I said fuck it. Packed it up and will be shipping it back to Sony tomorrow. They can fix that shit, I bought it brand new in June 04 !!!!!!!

mine kept freezing trying to play nfl 2005, and what I did was turn it on with no cd in it, and browse throught the settings, and set cd speed 'fast" and someother crap to "fast" or "high" too.
and it feels it runs better now. it didnt freeze anymore.

I dunno if that would help.

guys i have just GTA 5 after all this time lol....and i dont realyl see all teh fuss. Graphics are poor...cars look quite good tho as do the very large envinroments. The game is pretty hard compared to GTA vice city - im still stuck on that " og loc " first motorbike stage :(

Well if u must know -

I have a MAXTOR 80gb HD - with GT3 , GT4 prolouge , time splitters 2 , V8 supercars 2 , GTA vice city , GTA san andreas and a few misc. games.....this bunch uses up about 15gb so go about 65gb to go :) :) :)

I strongly suggest EVERY ps2 owner get one....( HDloader+HD+network adapter):beer:
