I'm doing a minor rebuild on my rods and pistons (bent a rod). While I'm at it I am thinking of changing to a y8IM and b16btb mainly 'cause I dont have the money for a P&P. I may be able to swing a regrind cam, but that's it. What can I expect with these two swaps? thanks

ACTUALLY I did this for a buddy that wanted only had so much $$$ but wanted more oomph out of this DX EK with IHE and got good gains
This swap is basically an OBD2 MPFI swap and the engine had a lot more to offer on the top end
the stock engine seemed to die after 5000 but the swap gave it about 1000RPM more pull
too bad the stock tranny was buzzkill on the swap
If you can source the parts for realy cheap, go for it
as far as Fuel Management, we converted to OBD-1 P06 chipped to "P29" but I'm sure u can run the D16Y8 ECU with some tricking

I'm thinking the switching from that vertical TB to the Horizontal TB y8 Im would make a pretty good gain. Even more so with a 60mm TB. I say go for it. A regrind would also be a great idea.

What trans ya running? I hope not that 4.06FD the dx coupe runs...your car will feel like a diff car if you run a z6/y8 trans-

At any rate...your car makes about 90whp stock, so...look for maybe 105 or so?

you can port match the manifold to a 60mm TB yourself for about 10 bucks.
