just wondering what it could be, everything sounds goodand car seems to run strong. most smoke of course is after a hard run. any ideas? will a manual boost controler work on an internal wastegate?

yes. manual boost controller will work on the wastegate, second its natural to smoke a little. probably its a little black because you are running rich.. also are you running a cat?

yea i thought it was rich didn't know if that would cause it, and no i have no cat, down pipe connects to complete N1. what is a good manual controler?

yeah i figured it was rich and you had no cat. they will smoke when you get on it. turboxs has some good manual boost controllers. my buddy with the s14 has a manual boost controller he got new for like 70 bucks, ill ask him where he got it. its mounted underneath the hood though. thats the only part i dont like about it.

Mine smoked a little but it wasn't coming from the exhaust it was the actual turbo itself. I guess when I was putting it on the grease and dirt from my hands was just burning off. this lasted for about 3 hours of running time then it went away. Was your turbo new?

Agree with konigcivic, the actual turbo can smoke... something to do with packing oil (?). Saw a 240 with a new turbo smoke, the turbo did it both on the engine dyno and in the car. The hood was off on the first couple runs, so it was noticable. Until the tire smoke took over :) 521hp@crank w/19psi
