I was wondering if anyone knew the best way to port out the D16Z6 I/M. I am in the middle of building my D16Z6 and I just want to know if anyone knows the best areas in the mani to port out. thanks.

Porting the intake manifold runners won't do shit...not noticable shit anyways...

then should i just leave is alone and not do anything to it? what about just polishing the runners and stuff just to help the airflow a little?

if you dont port the head there's no point in porting the intake mani.
if you are doing it yourself, might as well polish it.

I wouldn't polish anything ever when it comes to flowing air or water. look up the Layer Boundry Effect then make your decission.

I was going to port the head as well, why would it not be a good idea to polish anything? also, what is the Layer Boundry Effect?

layer boundry effect explains that air tends to get "lazy" on a smooth surface rather than a rough surface. this rough surface will also aid the atomization by keeping the fuel in suspence.

you would only port your im to match your head or tb. other wise don't even bother with it. you'll just mess things up. imo

first off, minimesleeper, how is the surface of the inatke runner gonna effect the atomization of the fuel when ONLY air is moving through there??????
Second off...........he is a good look on a how-to Z6 intake runner........rough.

tranz, my second statement was to t-bone after he replyed back saying that he was also going to port his head. i was only explaining what the layer boundry effect was in the first sentance. re-read what was written. not trying to be a dick but i was only trying to offer advice just like everyone else on this board.
