I don't know if it's true but Neon SRT-4 have windows washer squirter in front of intercooler. Like alcool injection on it. Does it really help ?

Yeah the Evo8 has the water mist spray on the ic also. Im sure it would help, heat kills performance with turbo/super charged engines. Lower temps could only mean more boost/power.

I wonder how many times they can use it before they need a refill? I have heard of putting bags of ice on your I/C between runs and leaving the engine running to cool engine temps between runs @ the strip. It does help a little bit.

I know very well how turbo and SC work. I just want to know this system efficiency comparate to normal IC; if it lower much more IC temp.

Check out overboost.com and see how much difference intercooler "misting" helps out...Think the results may sway you from thinking this is a good option.

intercooler requires air flowing across it to function. won't help to cool the car at all if it is sitting still. the only thing cooling your engine when idling is the flow of coolant and the electric fan.

In Motor Trend's "SVT Cobra vs STi" comparo, they did this. But like you say, it shouldn't help much.

I've seen SRT-4's on dyno and not one had anything spraying on their IC.
maybe its an upgrade option for some models or an aftermarket install.
or maybe Im blind.

My good friend has a SRT (he thinks it is bad ass like all the other SRT owners), I have never seen or heard anything about sprayers for the intercooler on a SRT and I have worked on his car alot, my other friend owns a STI he has them, they are attached to the hood scoop and there is a button on the dash on the left that says "I/C SPRAY".

SRT's are quick for a factory turbocharged-intercooled car but it is still and will always be a neon.:werd:

if you are worried about heat use some liquid nitrogen and spray it on the IC...if that can't cool it down nothin will... ;)
(P.S. Honestly DO NOT DO THAT, just being funny)
