I need traction. Without nitrous I launch at about 5000 RMPS and it seems to work well but with a 55 shot I just spin. Yesterday I launched at 5000 RMPS and the redlined before I realized it and had to shut it down. So what are you guys doing for traction? What size of rims and tires should I use. What would be better as far as weight and traction, 13" with 20' tires or 15" with 20" tires? What brand of slicks are the best bang for the buck? What RMP should I launch at?

Try brining you launch down a bit. Say like around 3300-3500, esp with a 55 shot. The wider the tire the better.

Exactly what Rexinre said....but if all else fails, better suspension, traction bar, or LSD does WONDERS!!! That mixed with some good radials and you'll be ballin' :D

But with slicks I should be able to launch at a higher RPM and gain a but on my 1/4 mile time shouldn't I? What is the best setup?

try some BFG drag radials, they are cheap as dirt about 240 per pair. what size is up to you. i run a 205/50r15 and they work great. i used to bog the start and have my tires spin as my car came onto boost, but now it just grabs. plus you can drive to the track on them!
i hear that nitrous cars generally like smaller rims than a turbo car.

I launched at 7000-7600 rpms.Wow, that is high. Do you spin much? Will a stock clutch, tranny and axles take that sort of punishment?

HOLY CRAP! That is a good advertisement for how sticky those tires must be.
Will a stock clutch, tranny and axles take that sort of punishment?I'm gonna guess no. Not for long anyway. Transex?

with a 205/60r14 bfg drag radial that was well worn in i launched at 5500 rpms. and i bogged the start pretty bad. you really dont need full slicks unless your at the track.
and your stock clutch is gonna hate you after a few launches like that. i think my nutts sucked up inside me when my buddy let go at redline with slicks, when he took me for a ride.

I am think of getting the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A Drag Radial Tires (http://http://www.1010tires.com/tire.asp?tirebrand=BFGoodrich&tiremodel=g%2DForce+T%2FA+Drag+Radial)
205/50/14 but wonder how they compare in stickyness to a 20-8-14 M/T.

they wont hook as good...but they will do a pretty damn good job of sticking:beer:

I thought you didn't want to activate n2o in first? Unless you have slicks LSD etc.
