hi im new to this and was wondering what would be good for my sohc zc motor...like what item would make my car run nicer and quicker?
i was told header and full exhaust would give my car a quicker ride, but you guys are the experts so let me know.
any motor work i need to get my motor running quicker than a bseries motor?
let me know thanks.

well, this question have definately been covered a dozen times (if not on d-series, then lots of other similar forums, like club si, honda tech, etc...). it all depends on how far you are willing to go with your car.

1) decide what you ultimately want to do (that's within your max budget)
2) try searching the forum for the answers. there's a wealth of information on all of the similar honda forums combined. the only problem is that most of the information from any of these forums are user opinions, meaning that there's different answers to many questions. since you're already talking about headers and exhausts, it seems like you pretty much answered your own question on how you want to start off.

Plans for MY SOHC ZC nonvtec
.5mm OS P29 pistons
Mill head and block
Y8 HG
Exospeed headwork and cam
this should get you where you want to be, but note that the same mods to a B-series would still womp on you all day long. It's just a bit cheaper with the D-series

Y8 Head on the SOHC ZC non vtec 88-95 will net more than 10 points C/R

no it won't. according to http://www.knology.net/~jediklc/D.htm, with a 2layer y8 head gasket it's 10.6:1

the SOHC ZC non-VTEC is equivalent to the USDM d16a6

^^isnt that what HumanResource just said??
10.6:1 = more that 10 points compression ratio

you might be able to mill it too bump it up to 11.0 to 1. think of getting the z6 head though the y8 dont flow for shit above 6500

ZC non-vtec.....?? what is that?

There are only 2 ZCs i know of...one..being the USDM DOHC non-vtec and the other being the JDM SOHC vtec...which i have....its almost identical to the d16z6

JDM ZC non-VTEC = USDM d16a6

all 1.6L d-series blocks in japan have code "ZC"

non-vtec SOHC ZC came off 2nd Gen CRX in Japan (*almost* identical to d16a6 USDM CRX SI, but has more aggressive came and little higher C/R)
non-vtec DOHC ZC was in 2nd Gen CRX SiR in Japan (close to the d16a9 in the USDM Teg 88-89ish. was also almost identical to the d16a8 in multiple cars in the euro market. the d16a8 motor mounts match up to the 2nd gen CRX whereas the d16a9 only match up to the 1st gen CRX)

as for a vtec ZC i dont know, never heard of a DOHC VTEC ZC and for the SOCH VTEC ZC the d16z6 seems like the most logical answer.
