good 4-1 header wrapped in some heat wrap, intake, 2.5in exhaust, eldelbrock i/m or ported stock one, aggressive cam, some 12.5:1 pistons, ls 60mm t/b, ported head, and a great tuner.

and even with that setup , I doubt you could push 160whp

160 @ the fly is a different story

and Im not saying it cant be done , but I really dont think you can hit 160hp on a budget build .....

160 hp is easy, was done 5-6 years ago.

The car was a budget build using off the shelf Honda parts.

This was before I knew about the GX bottom end, crap it was before I knew about OBD-2 motors. Looking back now, geez it was simple.

according to that article, they're quoting 156 dyno proven horsepower, which i assume is whp. but, immediately after that, they compare that to the factory crank output of the z6. in order to pull a high 13, that bay boy would have to be putting out 156WHP

still, that's impressive. and the only NA d-series powered honda i have heard of that has broken into 13s (not counting bisi of course)

i know for a fact that i can build a NA 150+whp d-series for ~$1400 (including the block and head cost and excluding tuning cost) and not even touch the bottom end
