Ummm..
So my uncle comes and basically he says would I want a turbo for my car (once the engine is in). And I ask umm what turbo. He says a turbo from a SAAB. He can get one at a junk yard he says and there would be some mods done to the exhasut manifold (header).
Can this be done and worth it? Too much work to do? Im gonna go basic I/H/E if I don't do this turbo....But then again if its too hard, I wont do it cuz no time and it would probably suck.

It would be possible, a few other homemade turbo members need to chime in on this one. I am more for prefab kits. Good Luck.

Yes it should work. The turbo should be a T3, but double check. I'd recommend getting it rebuilt before using it.

Yeah thats a T3 on those 900 and 9000 on the mid to late 80's Saab's. What exhaust manifold do you have on your engine right now? If you have or can get a HF, CX, STD exhaust manifold then you can just get a adapter plate for that turbo to bolt right onto the stock manifold. It's pretty cheap to build a nice turbo setup. So far I've only put roughly 300 into my kit and I have pretty much everything besides a downpipe but I can just make that myself. For the price you'll pay for a brand new I/H/E you can make a simple kit. Just becareful cause those older Saab turbo are in need of rebuilds and you don't know how long it's been sitting in the junkyard for. Just pull off the charge pipes and check for oil in them and then you'll know and also check for shaft play also so you won't waste all that time getting that snail off.

If you have done your homework on turbo projects then you should be able to answer your own questions. Without sounding like an ass I think you have more research to do. It's not just about buying a turbo and slapping it on.
