Hey guys well im new to the sohc world, i've been reading up on how much potential the d-series has.
My question is what do I need to do to a d16z6 before its ready for boost?
Or would it be better to turbo a d15b?
I apologize for my noobiness, please help me out.

Well a few things come to mind. How well has this engine been maintained? Do a compression check first and foremost! The next question I have is how much boost are we talking? I would start out with a nice fuel pump and depending on how much you plan on running start to price out injectors. DSM 450's are very popular and a dime a dozen. Fuel manegement, again how much boost. From cheap FMU's to nice Uberdata to super expensive Hondata. Its up to you.
Lastly search!! Theres hundreds of thousands of posts about boosting D's. Technicaly speaking NOTHING needs to be done to the engine itself. In stock form it willl handle 10-12psi daily drivin and in some extreme cases and well tuning even more pressure. what goals do you have in mind would help us out on suggestions. 170? 200? 250whp?

Hmmm i'm not too sure, I was saving for a b16a2, but I read about the single cams and now im interested in a basic turbo set up with a d16z6 that has 70k on the motor.
I want to hit at least 200whp and be able to run the 1/4 in the 12's atleast. Also be a daily driver. Any more tips would be greatly appriciated.

Your motor has pretty low miles so I am guessing it's in pretty good shape. 200whp shouldn't be too hard to get with a decent turbo setup. You could probably get high 12's with slicks boosting about 12 psi or so.

dont' even waste the money on the b16a2....
the high compression will make it a pain to tune the motor
stay with the d16z6 and boost the shit out of it
look at beerbong's tag....he has 210hp or so stock d16z6
