well I've got a 98 civic ex with a y8 and the zex 109300 cam shaft with an aem true time cam gear. right now its advanced 6 degrees and it feels more torquey down low, but can people with similar setups share what their cam timing is at? I know every engine is different, but I was just curious as to what others were running. thanks guys

you need to dyno tune it and see where you make more power.

yea definitely dyno tune it. Every degree you advance your cam your shifting the powerband lower the opposite is true of retarding the cam. Sooo everytime you advance it, yea its gonna feel like there is more power down low.

first off i had it at 0 degrees and it was ok. then i changed it to -1 and it felt like shit all throughout the powerband. then i slowly moved back up degrees one at a time. got to +3 and it was massive power at 6 to 7. got to +4 and the car had a leanier power to it. i'd say try 3 and notice that huge gain at the top end...but i'd prefer 4...that's my car anyways..(zex 105300 with skunk2 camgear. skunk2 IM. ebay 4-2-1 headers. cai)
also, bserieskllr has his set to -1 that's the best for him. i'd say just tune it little by little and try it out for yourself...or race a friend over and over until you have it set to it's maximum output.
