i think i could have gotten better ridrange power tho. the boost is set at 6psi but when it hits 6.5k rpm, the boost creeps to 9psi. i never noticed that until this dyno session. plus i forgot to bring my mbc when i dyno'd the car. i got like 6-7 pulls. i couldve gotten more pulls on the dyno but i got scared that the motor was gonna blow. i was fine with 210whp. this is on a dynojet.

i got these times using 20x6x14 m/t slicks on stock steelies. i was trying and concentrating so hard that day to hit 12's. i'm gonna try and get some bigger slicks and see if i can on the next importday at the tracks.

Awesome numbers and times dude! You got to love the stock Z6. Turn the boost up a little more next time at the track and dyno. :D

if you go with bigger slicks i reccomend the 22x8x15s or even 22x8x13 just remember the 13in 22in slick is alot beefier than the 15in. i was using the 15in 22s on my turbo set up, psi was about 13psi and launches at 6k. any less and it would bogg any more and it would spin. your timeslips look like your pretty consitant andu know how to get out the hole pretty good. keep it up. had u cut a 1.8 60ft u would have hit a 12
also not to bash your head but did u ever dyno the motor before and after the head was put on. just curious. also i think 200hp is real good on 9lbs. most dynos i see with 200whp are at about 11psi.

I'm VERY impressed you got 1.90 on the 20x6x14 MT's, what psi and launch rpm did you use?????? I used 20x814's at 12 psi........
I have the same numbers with just a stock motor and 75 shot via ZEX.

depending on track slope, you have the MPH over me covered, for now:)
Compare our 1000 foot numbers, your hauling ASS in the last 320 feet.
BTW this assumes both tracks are equal.

apex'i kit must look nice :TU:i have pics of the car but no motor shots. i am having trouble finding the digital camera. i just moved and not sure where half of my stuff are. i just found the powerwire to the scanner last night. otherwise i wouldve posted the pics when i got home on sunday. dont worry pics will be up shortly.

i ran before with a zex kit too. i ran a 13.8 with the cam and 55 shot. for some reason, theres was no power once i got into 4th gear. felt like it wouldnt accelerate anymore. i like your times with the 75 shot but i didnt have the balls to go with the 75 shot becus of that 4th gear problem. so i decided to go turbo.

thanks. yours are pretty good too.Thanks. Our timeslips are pretty simliar. Were both running consistant 1.9 60 foots, but your trapping 105 and I am trapping 102. Both are making about the same horsepower. You being in a VX hatch (about 350 pounds lighter than my coupe) looks like it defintely helps. I guess that whole "100 pounds lighter equals .1 off your 1/4 mile" saying is fairly accurate. You defintely have a lot left in that engine. I am hoping for 12's next time at the track with a little more boost and a little less tire pressure.

nice job. What timing are you running at? I only ask because you can see from 6000rpms on, the graph gets a lot more fluttery compared to even the rest of the map. This can be caused by two things. Detonation or your boost fluttering. Im assuming its your boost because you said you are having problems holding boost pressure steady.
Also, that P&P i would assume allow you to make more power at less pressure. Makes me want to get head work.

I was thinking the same thing. 210 WHP is awefully high for that psi on a D. None the less nice numbers bud. Shop must have done an outstanding job on the head work shes really flowing well. It will hold 12psi no prob just tuine that puppy. I'm sure 12's are well on their way :)

Bizzar, here is a post that really shows what cams and a p&p can do. These numbers are nuts

Nice job and great runs at the track. Did you do anything ie slicks or weight reduction?

Makes me want to get head work.well when the tuner was setting the timing, he noticed that the timing would jump back and forth and wouldnt hold steady when he used the timing light. a friend suggested that my timingbelt might be too loose. it is but im not sure thats the reason but it might be the boost like you said.
yeah, that head is awesome. i got a great deal on it. its pretty cheap actually. you can get it for $540-$640 shipped but without rocker arms and cam tho. i had a spare head sitting around from my blown block so it worked out fine.

i was using 20x6x14 mickey thompson slicks and i took out the seats. i was not concerned about what i would get in street trim so i kinda stripped the car. like i said, i was aiming for 12's.

that's cool
after i get my kit done we should go cruzing sometime. i'm like an hour and a half from st.paul
nathan
that dyno is prolly the closest to where im located so i'll prolly see some tuning time on that....
how much is it for tuning there? like $50/3 pulls or so?

nathansure thing. i think the price for tuning is $90/3 pulls. its better to go with the $140/hr. you get more pulls that way. when i was n/a, i got like 12 pulls in an hour. i had like 6-7 pulls on the 210whp day. i told them that it was good enough becus i didnt want to have to tow the car home if the motor blew. i couldve gotten more but the car was smoking a little and i got scared.
